Fun Friday: Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand Teen Talk Game

December 2, 2011

For those of you who have never been put through the trial—I mean, who haven’t had the privilege—of raising a teenager, please know that their primary mode of communication (aside from text messaging) is to speak in a mumble. They mumble, slur their words, mispronounce things, etc.—yet still seem able to understand each other. The rest of us, however, are stuck trying to crack the code. Mattel has actually made a game out of this teen talk called Mad Gab©. It’s my nieces’ favorite game!

I thought taking off on this game would be a fun way to celebrate the heartwarming book club favorite, Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand, by Helen Simonson.  I’ve used it as an icebreaker for several of my book clubs—and you can too—just click on the link: Major.P.Game. If you’d like the answer key, please email me at mtoyengstrom(at)hotmail(dot) com.

Have a great weekend!

I do believe that is the funniest game I’ve had the privelege of playing. Did I spell privelege right? I’m so used to shorthand now I can’t spell!!! Thanks for the blogs…I often read and don’t respond. I promise I’ll try to do better! Thank you for your support, too! Another Blogging Angel I look forward to reading!

    Always with Holiday Cheers,
