Fun Friday: And What’s More Fun Than The Circus?
Yesterday’s review of Erin Morgenstern’s The Night Circus was frustrating to write, since I didn’t feel as though I could effectively convey how magically wonderful this book is! It is only the second book (in addition to The Homecoming of Samuel Lake, by Jenny Wingfield) that I have ranked a 5 on my Goodreads account this year.
In an attempt to try to give you a better feel for this book—so you will go out and buy yourself a copy (you know that I usually push your local library, but mine is currently showing 250+ holds on 30 copies, and trust me, you do NOT want to wait…)—let’s go multi-media. I’m sharing with you the visual scrapbook of a very clever lady, Haley Keim. I mentioned this as a footnote on yesterday’s blog, but believe it deserves some special attention for Fun Friday.
In addition, Ms. Morgenstern, being her creative self, has also put together a playlist of songs which inspire the charmed feeling of The Night Circus. I suggest opening the mix tape to use as the ‘soundtrack’ when viewing the scrapbook.
Have a Fun Friday—and a magical weekend!
