Celebrating “The People” Who Make Pulpwood Queens Great
On Monday I spoke about The Pulpwood Queens’ (PWQ) philosophy and how it aligns with mine—The Books, The People, and The Fun…On Tuesday we talked about ‘The Books’ (and authors) that will be represented at Girlfriends’ Weekend; and on Wednesday PWQ author, Kathryn Casey wrote about what she loves about book clubs.
Today, I would just like you to see a handful of the great individual clubs who come to Girlfriends’ Weekend each year. From Northern Climes such as Alaska and Minnesota (brrr..) to the Heart of Dixie, with Southwest Louisiana, to The West with Katy, Texas, and The Pacific with my own neighborhood book club, Readers in the Hood. Since there are 400 chapters internationally, I’m sorry, but these fingers couldn’t type fast enough to give a shout out to them all…
These gals—and some guys—there are “Timber Guys” in addition to the PWQs—come with costumes, comedy and character every year—ready to learn about new books, meet some great new literary-minded friends—oh, yes, and CELEBRATE!
So today I’m toasting ALL The Pulpwood Queens’ chapters around the globe—both those whom I will see later today—and those who couldn’t make it this year.
Cheers!

P.S. I’ve packed my PJ’s, petticoat (crinoline, of course), pom poms, and poufy wig—and I am on my way to Jefferson to PART-TAY !
This is a great snapshot of how unique this event is! I not only had a ball but I also made lifelong friends. One whom is Marsha Toy Engstrom. Her creativity for the Hair Ball was a treat–an incredible table, a skit and a fantastic idea!

Thanks, Marcia–Your Tweedle Dee (and Dum) was pretty over the top! Glad you could make it!
